Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: AHRF adult patients (18-90 years old) who were admitted to the ICU of Shanghai General Hospital from October 2022 to April 2026 and were diagnosed with type I respiratory failure

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe asthma or chronic respiratory failure (including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or other underlying chronic respiratory diseases); 2. Hemodynamically unstable, SBP 15µg/kg/min or norepinephrine> 15ug/min); 3. GCS score = 12 points; 4. Those who cannot use the HFNC through the nose due to epistaxis, recent nasal surgery or other reasons; 5. Patients who need immediate tracheal intubation (life-threatening hypoxemia PaO2/FiO2< 50mmHg, cardiac or respiratory arrest, etc.) and who refuse to participate in the experiment.
