Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: General requirements: (1) Be 18 years old or older (2) Have at least 20 natural teeth, excluding the third molars (3) Have a high sex ratio match (4) Be in good physical health (5) Have no treatment experience for periodontal disease within 1 year (6) Have not used antibiotics within 6 months (7) Voluntarily complete clinical examination and provide oral sample resources (8) Have good compliance and can return to the clinic according to the appointment. The inclusion criteria of healthy people (H group) : (1) no periodontal pocket (PD=3mm) and attachment loss conforming to clinical diagnosis; (2) X-ray examination showed no alveolar bone resorption (more than 95% of the meso sites had a distance of < 3mm from the cementum to the bone crest). The inclusion criteria for patients with periodontitis (P group) were: (1) mean clinical attachment loss (CAL) = 1mm, (2) =2 sites of probing bleeding with PPD=4 mm (not on the same tooth), or =5 at one site.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: Poor maintenance of oral hygiene during pregnancy, lactation, systematic periodontal primary therapy or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or antibiotics within 6 months, periodontal surgery within 12 months, current or previous exposure to tobacco in any form, systemic disease (e.g. Diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, or immune disease) may affect the development of periodontal disease.
