No minimum to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age = 80 years; Clinically diagnosed with chronic empyema and bronchopleural fistula; Failure of conservative and other treatment methods; Chest CT scan showing the potential for clearance of the abscess cavity and partial re-expansion of the affected lung; Confirmation of tolerance to surgery based on organ function tests; Patient and family members have a clear understanding of the potential benefits and risks of the surgery and provide informed consent for the procedure.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Recurrence of bronchopleural fistula with residual tumor that cannot be effectively cleared locally or controlled systemically; Poorly controlled diabetes with organ damage; Severe preoperative cardiopulmonary dysfunction that cannot tolerate surgery; Poor overall preoperative condition that cannot tolerate surgery; Patient and family members do not have a clear understanding of the potential benefits and risks of the surgery and refuse to sign the surgical consent form.
