Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients =65 years of age, who agreed to participate in the study, whose medical records were complete, and who underwent elective spinal decompression surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Incomplete collection of medical records, patients with a history of mental illness and taking related drugs, or mini-mental state examination, MMSE) < 24 points (MMSE assessment of preoperative cognitive function 1 day before surgery), patients with hearing and speech disorders affecting communication, patients with preoperative delirium, oral feeding contraindications, gastroesophageal reflux and gastric empting disorders, patients with gastrointestinal obstruction, patients with a history of upper digestive tract tumors, and patients with difficult airways.
