Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Suicide ideation group: Suicidal ideation was grouped according to the scores on questions 4 and 5 of the BSI-CV scale, i.e., question 4, "What is your level of desire to actively attempt suicide in the last week and at the time of greatest depression and depression?" and question 5, "To what extent do you wish to end your life externally, i.e. have a "passive suicidal wish", in the last week and at the time of greatest depression and depression?" with a score of non-zero for any one of these questions used as an indicator to screen students with external suicidal ideation. (2) Healthy control group: physically and mentally healthy, without any diagnosed mental disorder, organic brain disease or chronic physical illness; no previous suicidal ideation, suicidal planning or suicidal/self-injurious behaviour among university students.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Subjects diagnosed with depressive disorder or bipolar disorder without any previous suicidal ideation or behaviour were excluded based on the MINI interview; (2) subjects who had done similar decision-making tasks in the past were excluded; (3) subjects who could not understand the rules and did not cooperate with the task experiment were excluded; (4) subjects with incomplete recording of task data were excluded.
