Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with late life depression (60 cases) : Inclusion criteria: Age =60 years old; Han, male and female, right-handed. Meeting the diagnostic criteria for depression in the 10th edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), and have had at least one depressive episode at age 60 or later. Patients enrolled in the acute phase also scored more than 17 points on the Hamilton Depression Scale [17 items], and did not receive systematic antidepressant treatment for 2 weeks before enrollment, and did not receive MECT treatment for nearly 3 months. Note: In the consolidation-maintenance period, in order to further expand the sample size, in addition to the 60 patients who completed the acute phase of treatment at baseline, patients with late life depression disorder who met the criteria of the consolidation-maintenance period in the past were also included (inclusion criteria: age =60 years; Han, male and female. Meet the ICD-10 diagnostic criteria for depression and have had at least one depressive episode at age 60 or later). 2. Normal controls (60 cases) : Inclusion criteria: age =60 years; No significant physical illness, no current or previous history of mental illness.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with late life depression (60 cases) : Exclusion criteria: Depression secondary to organic disease or other mental disorders; There are serious violent attacks or suicide behavior and other unable to cooperate; Combined with mental retardation, dementia, epilepsy and end-stage diseases; Patients with metal in the body and other conditions that do not warrant an MRI scan. 2. Normal control (60 cases) : Exclusion criteria: Subjects with metal in their bodies and other conditions that would not allow an MRI scan.
