Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 16 years; 2. Identify as a cisgender man or transgender woman; 3. Report previously having anal or oral sex with a man; 4. Report having at least one of the following risk factors for STI acquisition in the past 12 months: >= 1 bacterial STI diagnosis, anal sex with >= 2 male partners, or condomless anal or oral sex with >= 1 male partner; 5. Provide informed consent and personal contact information, including a cell phone number or WeChat ID.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Report previous allergy to tetracycline antibiotics; 2. Taking medications which may impact doxycycline metabolism or that are contraindicated with doxycycline, as per the prescribing information (e.g., systemic retinoids, barbiturates, carbamazepine, and phenytoin); 3. Taking warfarin, as intermittent doxycycline use can lead to an unpredictable impact on INR; 4. Anticipate use of doxycycline during the coming 12 months for non-STI prevention (e.g., acne treatment).
