Interventions

control group:no intervention
Time-restricted eating:The TRE protocol will be a 16/8 mode which means <= 8h daily eating window, fasting for the remaining 16 hours with ad libitum energy intake.
Aerobic exercise:The aerobic exercise group will exercise 3 times for non-consecutive days for 12 weeks.
Time restricted eating combined with aerobic exercise:The participants in this group will undergo diet and exercise interventions together, following the TRE regimen and Aerobic exercise plan mentione

Eligibility

40 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Chinese females aged 40–60 years; 2. Obesity/overweight: Body mass index [BMI] >= 23 kg/m2; 3. Physically inactive: Not meet PA guideline: 150 min moderate intensity exercise or 75 min vigorous intensity exercise per week; 4. Weight stable for 3 months prior to the beginning of the study (gain or loss = 12 h per day.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Known cardiovascular disease; 2. Known Type 1 or 2 diabetes mellitus; 3. Currently taking medications that could affect study outcomes. For example: antihypertension medication and taking glucose-lowering or lipid-lowering medication; 4. Known musculoskeletal disease or injury that will affect the aerobic exercise; 5. Night shift workers; 6. Breast-feeding, pregnant or trying to become pregnant; 7. Non-smokers; 8. Not currently on a special or prescribed diet for other reasons.
