Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with signed informed consent for primary unilateral total hip arthroplasty

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Allergy to methylprednisolone, tranexamic acid, rheumatoid arthritis, infected patients, body mass index (BMI) >30 kg/m2, one-stage bilateral hip replacement, revision surgery, coagulation abnormalities, haematological disorders, malignant neoplasm, severe cardiopulmonary disease, severe liver and renal abnormalities, history of previous thromboembolism, pre-operative haemoglobin less than 90 g/L, use of anti-coagulant medication in the last seven days prior to the operation.
