Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.The affected tooth needs to be extracted or is already missing due to reasons such as remaining root, remaining crown, trauma, fracture, deformity, or tumor. 2.The donor tooth is healthy, non-functional, and its root development is at Moorrees stage 4 or above (which means the root length has formed more than two-thirds of its total length). The crown-root morphology and size of the donor tooth closely match the recipient site. The gap in the recipient site and the amount of alveolar bone (including height and width) are sufficient to accommodate the donor tooth completely. 3.The patient is in good overall health, has no contraindications for tooth extraction, and requests and consents to the transplantation surgery.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.The donor tooth itself has severe pathology or deformities, such as excessive loss of periodontal attachment (more than 1/2), excessive root curvature (when the length of the curved root, excluding the curved root apex, is smaller than the crown height), or excessive root divergence (when the distance between divergent roots exceeds the mesiodistal and buccolingual dimensions of the recipient site). 2.The recipient site lacks adequate width, height, and gingival distance compared to the antagonist tooth, with a noticeable deficiency in crown size (a difference greater than 2 mm). The recipient site's alveolar bone shows significant defects, deformities, or pathologies, with bone walls measuring less than one-third of the original bone wall height or width. 3.The patient has severe oral or systemic diseases, especially severe periodontitis, bone metabolic disorders, etc.
