Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. age between 18 and 95 years; 2. a diagnosis of hypertension at the time of admission;
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. secondary hypertension; 2. prior coronary artery bypass graft surgery. 3. comorbid severe heart valve disease; 4. active myocarditis 5. active pericarditis 6. severe infections; 7. severe renal insufficiency (eg. 7. severe renal insufficiency (eGFR < 30 ml/min) 8. rheumatologic diseases; 9. mental or legal incapacity. 10. drug or alcohol abuse within the last 2 years. 11. patients with an underlying rhythm other than sinus rhythm (e.g., atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, severe atrioventricular block, and pacemaker implantation; 12. the presence of tumor-related diseases 13. the presence of other diseases that have an impact on autonomic function, such as hyperthyroidism, psychiatric or neurological disorders.
