Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Meeting the FAI diagnostic criteria established by the International Ankle Association; a history of at least one significant ankle sprain within 12 months prior to the study enrolment that was associated with inflammatory symptoms (e.g., pain, swelling) and created at least one interrupted day of desired physical activity; having one or more ankle sprains in the last 6 months; having a sprained side of the ankle that causes "weakness during exercise" and "sensory instability" with uncontrolled inversion; a score of <24 on the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool questionnaire ; and willing to provide signed informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Any form of neurological disorder or other injuries at the lower extremities; history of lower extremity surgery; and test positive for the anterior drawer test and talus tilt test.
