C5 nerve root palsy after posterior cervical decompression surgery

A:Acupuncture treatment of Tiaokou acupoint-penetrating Chengshan on the contralateral lower limb of the palsy combined with conventional nerve nutrition and dehydration.
B:Conventional nerve nutrition and dehydration.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (i)diagnosed with spinal cervical spondylosis and first underwent posterior cervical decompression; (ii) had postoperative onset of C5P symptoms such as paralysis, pain and loss of muscle strength in the deltoid and/or biceps or triceps muscles; (iii) had no history of shoulder disease before operation and no intraoperative nerve injury; (iv) had normal position of the internal fixation in the neck on postoperative radiographs and no signs and symptoms associated with spinal cord compression; (v) had good incision healing; (vi) had normal state of mind and cognitive competence, then understood and cooperated with the acupuncture treatment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (i) does not meet the diagnostic criteria for C5P; (ii) has undergone cervical spine surgery in the past; (iii) has other diseases of the cervical spine; (iv) has a pre-existing shoulder disease; (v) has abnormalities such as poor position of the internal cervical fixation on post-operative examination; (vi) rejects acupuncture treatment; (vii) lacks voluntary expression or cognitive ability.
