Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: ?Age = 18 years old; ?Those who meet the diagnostic criteria for dysmenorrhea in Chinese and Western medicine and have dysmenorrhea symptoms 1 day before menstruation or 1-3 days of menstruation; ?Disease duration = 6 months, with a visual analog scale (VAS) score = 3 and frequency of symptoms occurring = 3 times; ?Regular menstrual cycle in the past 6 months, with a duration of (28±7) days; ?No prior Chinese or Western medicine treatments that could potentially affect the outcome measures during the first menstrual cycle before study inclusion, except for analgesics; ?Normal sense of smell and ability to detect aromas; ?Voluntary participation in the study and provision of signed informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ?Those who are preparing for pregnancy, pregnant or lactating within the past year; ?Those with a history of allergy to a certain Chinese herbal included in the Chinese herbal compound and those who were allergic; ?Those with severe cardiovascular, liver, kidney and hematopoietic system diseases; ?Those with major mental illnesses (such as depression); ?Those with gynecological conditions causing abdominal pain, such as acute pelvic infection or pelvic malignant tumors; ?Those who were scheduled for night shifts in their clinical internship within the past 4 months.
