Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for children: (1) younger than 18 years of age; (2) receiving inpatient treatment and diagnosed with advanced cancer (stage III/IV, no restriction on the type of cancer); (3) expected survival within one year. Inclusion criteria for family members: (2) no age limit, at least one of the participating family members was =18 years old; (2) they were family members or relatives with the child and had primary caregiving duties, such as the child's parents, grandparents or siblings; (3) no cognitive impairment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for children: (1) unwilling to participate in the study; (2) guardians refused the child to participate in the study; (3) participating in other psychotherapeutic intervention studies. Exclusion criteria for family members: (1) those who were unwilling to participate in the study; (2) those who were participating in other psychotherapeutic intervention studies; (3) language communication impairment.
