Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ? Patients undergoing elective hip/knee replacement or gastrointestinal surgery ? Age = 60 years old ? Preoperative mini-mental state examination (MMSE) score > 24 points

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ? Patients with a history of severe neurological or psychiatric disease before surgery ? Patients with severe visual impairment and unable to communicate due to various reasons ? Patients with a history of taking sedatives or antidepressants.
