60 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Age >= 60 years old; 2) American society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification I to III; 3) Non-cardiac major surgery (thoracic, abdominal, urology, orthopedics, spine surgery) planned for = 1.5 hours under general anesthesia; 4) Estimated postoperative hospital stay = 2 days.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Emergency surgery; 2) Left ventricular ejection fraction < 30%, sick sinus syndrome, severe sinus bradycardia (< 50 beats/min), second-degree or higher atrioventricular block without a pacemaker, the history of Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease; 3) Mini-mental State Examination (MMSE) < 23; 4) Alcohol abuse; 5) BIS monitoring cannot be applied; 6) Refusal for participation.
