Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Outerbridge grade III/IV focal knee cartilage defects with the following corresponding criteria: ? mature epiphysis, = 55 years old ? cartilage defect size of 2-9 cm2; with intact and healthy surrounding cartilage, the corresponding joint surface is intact (according to Outerbridge grading allows the maximum damage level II) ? meniscus without damage or can be repaired by ?No ligamentous defects or surgical reconstruction is possible ?Normal lower limb axis or surgical correction (inversion or valgus <5°) and normal patellofemoral trajectory ?Patients can cooperate with strict postoperative rehabilitation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ? arthrofibrosis ? inflammatory arthropathy ? joint ankylosis ? contraindication to surgery ? BMI = 35.
