Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Patients with pathological examination confirmed to be head-and-neck tumours; (2) Patients are capable of normal communication; (3) Patients without other primary malignant tumours; (4) Patients must abstain from smoking and alcohol after enrolment and take oral care as required; (5) No oral cavity disorders prior to radiotherapy; (6) Karnofsky (KPS) score of =60 for general condition; (7) patients signed informed consent, volunteered ,and participated actively.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with co-morbidities such as diabetes that affect their physical condition and the course of radiotherapy; (2) Patients suffering from habitual mouth ulcers; (3) Patients with oral disorders that existed prior to radiotherapy and were not effectively controlled; (4) Patients suffering from psychiatric disorders; (5) Patients with simultaneous use of medications that are required to avoid cold.
