Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The diagnosis of PCOS is based on the 2003 Rotterdam criteria, and any two of the following three criteria are met: 1. Clinical manifestations of hyperandrogenism or hyperandrogenemia; 2. Sporadic ovulation or anovulation; 3. Ultrasound manifestations of polycystic ovaries.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. The following conditions causing hyperandrogenemia as well as ovulation disorders need to be excluded prior to PCOS diagnosis: androgen-producing tumors, Cushing's syndrome, atypical congenital adrenal hyperplasia due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, or hyperprolactinemia; 2. Use of probiotics, prebiotics, or antibiotics in the past 3 months; 3. Use of metformin, acarbose, glucocorticoids, orlistat, or oral contraceptives in the past 3 months; 4. With orther diseases such as diabetes, abnormal liver and kidney function, et al.; 5. Pregnancy or lactation; 6. Any condition affecting enrollment as judged by investigators.
