Hepatic surgery for cancer

Interventions

rhBNP group:Recombinant human brain natriuretic peptide (0.5 mg) is diluted in 50 mL of normal saline. Infusion of a 1.5 µg/kg loading dose of rhBNP solution followed by a continuous infusion of 0.007
non-rhBNP group:Fifty milliliter of normal saline is infused using the same protocol.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with hepatic cancer, aged 18–79 years, with American Society of Anesthesiologists grades I–III, scheduled for elective laparoscopic hepatectomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Child-Pugh grade C, renal insufficiency [estimated glomerular filtration rate = 60 mL/min/1.73 m2, creatinine level > 1.1 mg/dL (female)/ > 1.3 mg/dL (male), or renal failure necessitating hemodialysis], severe heart disease (unstable angina, chronic heart failure, and functional New York Heart Association class III or above), poor control of hypertension and diabetes, coagulation disorders, history of upper abdominal surgery, open conversion prior to surgery, palliative surgery, intraoperative critical events, and patients who did not undergo the Pringle maneuver.
