60 Years to 79 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 60-79 years; 2. No smoking; 3. No major diseases such as cancers; 4. No acute exacerbation of chronic diseases; 5. No metabolic diseases such as diabetes; 6. No liver or kidney diseases such as hepatitis or nephritis; 7. No mental diseases; 8. Retired and without a history of occupational exposure to toxic substances; 9. There are no plans to move out of their place of residence within the next year; 10. BMI<28 kg/m2; 11. Have lived at the study site for more than 5 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Take selenium containing nutritional supplements regularly on daily life; 2. Allergies to selenium supplements or placebo components in this study; 3. Suffering from hearing, language, and cognitive impairments that prevent normal communication; 4. Have a history of using antibiotics, hormones, anti-inflammatory or other drugs one month before enrollment; 5. Have a history of fever or infection within one month before enrollment.
