Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were: (1) CT or MRI results met the diagnostic criteria for stroke in the "Key Points in the Diagnosis of Major Cerebrovascular Diseases in China (2019)"; (2) they had hand dysfunction caused by stroke; (3) they had their first stroke between 18-75 years old; (4) they had cerebral hemorrhage or infarction with a course over 1 month but within 12 months; (5) they scored =24 on the Mini-Mental State Examination and were capable of understanding simple instructions; (6) they were at Brunnstrom stage III-VI, and had muscle tone score of = 1+ on the Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS); (7) they had no aphasia; (8) they had a sitting balance score =2; and (9) they had no other diseases that severely impacted upper extremity sensation and motor functions such as cervical spondylosis and various skin disorders.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were as follows: (1) patients had hand or wrist dysfunction prior to stroke onset; (2) patients had stroke complicated by serious visceral dysfunction including heart and kidney; (3) patients had open wounds on their hand; and (4) patients had infectious skin diseases of their hands.
