Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Meeting the diagnostic criteria for HZ with a visual analogue scale (VAS) score of =6 for pain on admission; (2) Herpes zoster accumulated in the unilateral cervical segment (lesions located in the C2-C7 innervation zone); (3) Herpes in the acute phase (herpes within 1 week of appearance) and not systematically treated prior to admission; (4) Age > 50 years; (5) Signed informed consent and not concurrently participating in other clinical trials.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with HZ whose herpes has lasted longer than 1 week or is under treatment; (2) Those with comorbid other skin diseases that cannot be distinguished from HZ; (3) HZ cumulative thoracolumbar segment (lesions located in the T1-L5 nerve distribution area); (4) Patients with hearing impairment and language comprehension disorders; (5) Patients with rheumatic immune system diseases and those currently taking immunosuppressive drugs; (6) Patients with clearly diagnosed neuropsychiatric disorders: e.g. dementia, Parkinson's syndrome, myasthenia gravis, schizophrenia, epilepsy, etc; (7) Refusal to participate in the trial or to sign the informed consent form.
