Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adult patients diagnosed with esophageal cancer and scheduled for elective minimally invasive Mckeown esophagectomy via thoracoscopy and laparoscopy between Janurary 2016 and February 2023 were enrolled.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with cervical esophageal cancer, patients with esophageal cancer recurrence, had an American Society of Anesthesiologists grade greater than class III, had COVID-19 a month prior to surgery or during hospitalization, with change of operation method during surgery (eg. unresectable tumors discovered during surgery/conversion of thoracoscopy or laparoscopy to an open procedure or with combined excision of other organs), and patients with missing data were excluded from the study.
