Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Be 18-45 years of age; 2) Diagnosed by an attending psychiatrist or higher, meeting the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for adult MDD (current or previous) and/or ADHD (current); 3) The presence of "psychomotor retardation" or "diminished ability to think or concentrate or indecision" in the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for patients with MDD; (4) HAMD-24 score = 20; (5) Unadjusted medication dose in the last 4 weeks.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Having a mental disorder other than MDD, ADHD, or anxiety spectrum disorder; 2) Having a history of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, history of traumatic brain injury, or serious physical illness; 3) Being pregnant or breastfeeding; 4) Severe suicidal ideation (score =3 on the suicide item of the HAM-D) and the recent presence of self-injurious behavior; 5) Those with an intelligence level below the normal range, i.e., a total IQ score of less than 90 on the Wechsler Intelligence Test; 6) A frontal skin condition that may impede light penetration, such as a tattoo or birthmark; 7) Receiving photosensitizing medication within 14 days 8) Having an implant in the head, such as an endovascular stent placement, to prevent possible dislocation associated with vasodilation.
