Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (i) laypersons aged =18 years; (ii) patients under their care were aged =18 years and met the diagnostic criteria for severe stroke in the Diagnostic Essentials of Various Major Cerebrovascular Diseases in China 2019 [39] developed by the Cerebrovascular Disease Group of the Chinese Medical Association Neurology Branch and confirmed by CT or MRI; (iii) the length of care was =4 hours/day (when there were multiple caregivers for one patient at the same time, the care duration was chosen the longest); ?Voluntary participation in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (i) the patient under their care is not scheduled to be transferred out of the NICU; (ii) they have participated in a relevant study.
