Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ? Hospitalization in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Shenzhen Second People's Hospital from September 2022 to January 2023; ? All participants met the diagnostic criteria for stroke, including cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage; participants in the observation group met the diagnostic criteria for COVID-19 infection; ? Patients in the observation group were not infected with COVID-19 at admission, but suffered a COVID-19 infection during hospital stay and had a fever with body temperature exceeding 38°C, which returned to normal after treatment; ? Age = 18 years; ? Stroke duration > 48h; ? Patients with moderate to severe functional impairment, i.e. bedridden or domestic cases assessed by Longshi scale; ? Patients in the observation group completed noninvasive hemodynamic assessments before and after COVID-19 infection, and patients in the control group completed twice hemodynamic assessments in a 15 days interval.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ? Acute infections caused by other microorganisms, including bacterial infections, fungal infections, atypical pathogenic infections, etc.; ? Patients with fever caused by non-infectious diseases, including neurogenic fever, autoimmune diseases, tumor fever, hematologic diseases, etc.; ? Patients with progressive stroke, traumatic brain injury, encephalitis, tuberculous meningitis, brain tumor, spinal cord injury and other lesions resulting in paralysis; ? Patients with acute coronary syndrome, decompensated heart failure, uncontrolled severe arrhythmias (rapid atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia, etc.) or high atrioventricular block, severe heart valve disease, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, active myocarditis, pericarditis, and other serious heart diseases; ? Patients who were judged by the investigators to be unsuitable for participation in this study.
