Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients = 18 years of age, meeting the criteria for severe limb trauma, with injuries to the upper extremity near the wrist joint, undergoing limb preservation surgery
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Persons younger than 18 years of age who suffered a traumatic amputation or amputation as the first surgical procedure (primary amputation), who were pregnant at the time of the trauma, who suffered an isolated trauma located distal to the carpometacarpal joint, and whose cause of amputation was not clearly documented
