Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Elderly patients with functional constipation: ? Comply with the Rome IV diagnostic standard for functional constipation issued in 2016; ? Gender unlimited, 60 years = age = 80 years; ? Functional constipation is classified as mild to moderate; ? Have not used any medication for constipation within at least 4 weeks before entering treatment (except for emergency treatment); ? No mental or intellectual abnormalities, able to understand the provisions of various scales and complete the assessment; ? Agree to participate in this study and sign a written informed consent form. Elderly non-constipated patients: ? Any gender, 60 years = age = 80 years; ? No constipation-related symptoms after comprehensive assessment of enrollment; ? No significant gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g. abdominal pain, diarrhea, blood in stool, constipation, abdominal distension, etc.) were reported within 4 weeks prior to enrollment; ? No use of drugs that promote or inhibit gastrointestinal motility within 4 weeks prior to enrollment; ? No mental and intellectual abnormalities, able to understand the provisions of each scale and complete the assessment; ? Agree to participate in this study and sign the written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Elderly patients with functional constipation: ? Patients with severe primary diseases, infectious diseases, tumors, and psychiatric diseases such as heart, brain, liver, kidney, and hematopoietic system; ? Irritable bowel syndrome and constipation caused by tumors, inflammatory reactions, endocrine and metabolic diseases, and drugs; ? Constipation caused by organic lesions; ? Drugs that have been used with antibiotics or other drugs within 4 weeks before enrollment that may have an impact on the intestinal flora, thereby affecting the efficacy and judgment; ? Acupuncture sites include ulcers, abscesses, skin infections, etc; Patients with metal allergy or severe fear of needles; ? Participate in other clinical medical clinical trials and studies within the past two months; ? Those who have received acupuncture and moxibustion treatment in the past 1 year. Elderly non-constipated patients: ? Patients with serious primary diseases such as heart, brain, liver, kidney and hematopoietic system, infectious diseases, tumors and psychiatric diseases; ? Patients with metabolic related diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome, abnormal thyroid function, or abnormal blood glucose/lipidemia; ? Those who have used antibiotics or other medications that may have an effect on intestinal flora within 4 weeks prior to enrollment, thus affecting the efficacy and judgment; ? Participating in other clinical trial studies in clinical medicine within the last 2 months; ? Patients who have received acupuncture treatment within the past 1 month or who have received acupuncture treatment within the last 2 months.
