Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. 29 weeks <= 32 weeks of gestational age for children of appropriate gestational age. 2. 950g < birth weight <= 2140g. 3. Stable vital signs. 4. pure tube feeding or a combination of tube feeding and parenteral nutrition. 5. Parents of preterm infants living permanently in the city of Chengdu who have given their informed consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Combined serious complications: neurological disorders: intraventricular hemorrhage, periventricular white matter softening, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, etc.; neonatal asphyxia; necrotizing small intestinal colitis; severe infections such as neonatal sepsis; bronchopulmonary dysplasia, etc. 2. congenital disorders: e.g. chromosomal abnormalities, cleft lip and palate, congenital heart disease, oral malformations, gastrointestinal malformations such as oesophageal atresia and intestinal atresia 3. Use of sedative and analgesic drugs one week prior to aEEG monitoring.
