Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: NAFLD group: 1) age 18-65 years old, males or females; 2) Diagnosed as fatty liver disease by imaging (ultrasound, CT or MR) or liver biopsy; 3) Informed and signed to participate in this study. Healthy group: Not considered as fatty liver diseases via at least two imaging methods (ultrasound, CT or MR) or liver biopsy. In addition, they aren't obese/over-weight or don't have glucose or lipid metabolism disorders.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Pregnant or lactating women; 2) concomitant with other liver diseases; 3) end-stage liver disease; 4) Excessive alcohol consumption; 5) Other diseases leading to fatty liver, including hypothyroidism, Cushing syndrome, etc.; 6) Suffering from other serious diseases, such as coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, diabetes, renal insufficiency, tumors, serious infections, etc.; 7) Major surgery or major traumatic events in the past 2 months; 8) The weight fluctuation exceeds 5% in the past 3 months. 9) taken drugs that may cause liver damage in the past 3 months; 10)Taken drugs to treat fatty liver disease or metabolic disorders in the past 3 months.
