Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients aged 1 month to 18 years who were admitted to the children's intensive care unit during the study period and were consistent with severe sepsis/septic shock. 1. Severe sepsis was supported by a spanking standard in the 2005 International Expert Consensus on Concepts and Definitions related to Pediatric Sepsis, that is sepsis + any of the following: ? cardiovascular dysfunction, ? acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), ?=2 other organ dysfunction. 2. Septic shock Diagnostic criteria were used in the International Guidelines for Saving Sepsis campaign 2020: Management of Septic Shock and Septic-related Organ Dysfunction in Children, i.e. cardiovascular dysfunction due to severe infection (including hypotension requiring vasoactive medication or abnormal perfusion).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Age: newborns, premature infants with corrected gestational age of less than 41 weeks and adults =18 years old; 2. No pathogen screening were performed 3. clinical data were not completed
