Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants scheduled for laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgerysurgery under general anaesthesia were eligible provided they were 18-65 yr old with an American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status 1 or 2 and Body Mass Index 18-24 kg/m2;.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: We excluded participants using the following criteria: severe hepatic and renal dysfunction; severe neurological or cardiovascular disease; allergic to general anesthetic drugs and patients with peripheral vascular disease or rheumatic disease.(e.g. diabetic vasculopathy or Raynauds disease);drugs that may affect sympathetic or parasympathetic tone (e.g. beta blockers or anticholinergics) and any neurological or psychiatric diseases, including history of, or treatment for, substance abuse,anxiety, or depression.
