Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with TMD according to the diagnostic criteria of RDC/TMD with the following criteria: having impaired motion or pain in the mandibular joint with a VAS value of >4; having a history of significant painful elastic murmur in the joint area; having a history of pain with joint disc displacement and pain without joint disc displacement; the patient is in good general condition without systemic diseases such as rheumatism; being able to cooperate with the examination and taking a complete medical history; MRI showing normal or abnormal joint disc position and structure.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of maxillofacial infection, trauma; previous history of neurological headache; patients with connective tissue or autoimmune diseases, dental malocclusion and history of facial surgery; history of TMJ fracture; history of coronal overgrowth; history of degenerative joint disease and osteoarthritis of the temporomandibular joint surgery; reluctance to cooperate and incomplete medical history.
