Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Meet the diagnostic criteria of Western medicine for insomnia; (2) aged between 18 and 80; (3) Conscious, clear thinking and able to communicate with language; (4) no symptoms of anosmia; (5) Pittsburgh sleep quality index > 5; (6) Understand and cooperate with the corresponding test plan, and sign the informed consent. Those who met all the above criteria were included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1)insomnia caused by systemic diseases such as pain,fever,cough,surgery,and external environmental interference factors;(2)Patients with moderate and severe anxiety and depression: Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) standard score =60 points,self-rating Depression scale (SDS) standard score =63 points;(3)serious mental disorders that affect sleep, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder,paranoid mental disorder,schizoaffective disorder,epileptic mental disorder,and severe mental retardation;(4)Pregnancy, breastfeeding and pregnancy planning;(5)complicated with other serious circulatory system, hematopoietic system,digestive system,endocrine system and other diseases;(6)Allergic to aromatic drugs or serious adverse reaction history,and severe allergic constitution;(7)Those who are performing acupuncture treatment regularly (2-3 times a week in the past 1 month);(8)Participants who are participating in clinical trials of other professional insomnia interventions and will influence the outcome of this study.
