Age
14 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. A history of at least twice patellar dislocation events; 2. Skeletal maturity; 3. Willingness to voluntarily participate in the cohort study and to sign informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Ipsilateral previous surgery for patellar instability; 2. Concomitant knee ligament injury or patellar revulsion fracture requiring surgical treatment; 3. Contralateral patellar instability without medical management; 4. Varus or valgus deformity of the knee of more than 5 degrees; 5. Clinical or radiographic evidence of early knee osteoarthritis; 6. Concomitant systemic diseases that affect the assessment of knee function and sports level; 7. Failure to complete the rehabilitation protocol as required; 8. Patient medically not fit for surgery, radiographs or MRI; 9. For women, pregnant, planning to be pregnant or lactating.
