Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: a. Age range from 20 to 70 years; b. At least 20 teeth in the mouth (excluding the third permanent molar); c. No systemic disease; d. Periodontitis subjects: Stage ?-? extensive periodontitis; e. Subjects with Type 2 diabetes: have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for at least 1 year and have a HbA1c level of =6.5%; f. Healthy subjects: Periodontal status: probing depth of periodontal pocket < 4mm, and probing bleeding percentage =10%; Blood glucose status: HbA1c level < 6.5%; g. Sign informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: a. The presence of a serious systemic disease other than type 2 diabetes (kidney disease, rheumatoid arthritis, liver dysfunction, stroke or history of stroke); b. Serious complications of diabetes: acute cardiovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease (ulcer, gangrene, etc.), neurological disease within 12 months; c. During pregnancy or lactation; d. Periapical abscess, periodontal abscess and other active oral infections; Oral mucosal disease; Severe untreated dental caries in the mouth; Wear orthodontic devices or removable dentures; f. History of antibiotic or immune-related drug use in the past 3 months.
