Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adults (>= 18 years) with American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I-III who were scheduled for elective otolaryngologic surgery under general anesthesia with planned orotracheal intubation (either could be intubated under VL and VS) were eligible if difficult post-induction intubation attributable to a laryngeal tumor was anticipated; Informed consent was obtained.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: With cardiopulmonary arrest, emergency airway, risk for aspiration, difficulty in mask ventilation, BMI > 40kg/m^2, thyreomental distance < 6cm, interincisal opening < 3cm, predicted for awake intubation.
