Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Must have a DSM--V- diagnosis of schizophrenia (this will be confirmed by the Psychotic Disorder subscale of the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview or M.I.N.I); 2. Must maintain mild to moderate delusional beliefs as a minimum. This will be confirmed by the ‘Delusions’ subscale of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and the Scale for the Assessment of Positive Symptoms (SAPS), and moderate to high scores on the Peters et al Delusions Inventory (PDI); 3. Must be able to speak, read and understand Chinese and have the ability to respond to questions and follow instructions.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with substance use disorder, alcohol dependence within the past 6 months, IQ <70, severe organic brain disease, and epilepsy; 2. People whose primary language is not Chinese. To accurately confirm a diagnosis of schizophrenia and assess the severity of current delusions using clinical diagnostic measures, participants must be able to speak, read, and understand Chinese and have the ability to answer questions and follow instructions. Compromises in this area may lead to inaccurate diagnoses or misreporting of actual symptom severity; 3. Children and/or young adults (i.e., <18 years of age): manifestations of schizophrenia usually occur in the late teens and are often identified in the early 20s due to fluctuating symptoms. Exclusion of individuals under 18 years of age will ensure that the diagnosis of schizophrenia is valid; 4. People in a dependent or unequal relationship: To avoid any conflict of interest, people who are in a dependent or unequal relationship with the researcher will not be included in this study; 5. Women who are pregnant and the human foetus.
