Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were :(1) 18 to 40 years of age; (2) at least two postpatellar or peripatellar pain in running, jumping, sedentary, climbing/descending stairs, resisting knee extension, and one-legged squatting; (3) Previous pain symptoms existed for at least 3 months and were not related to direct trauma.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were :(1) presence of other knee lesions, such as rheumatoid, arthritis, and injury to the patellar tendon, quadriceps tendon, meniscus, or ligament; (2) Patellar subluxation or dislocation; (3) Patients with low frequency electrical therapy contraindications and electrical stimulation intolerance.
