Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were: (1) patient age >18 years, diagnosis of ME of BRVO; (2) a history of intravitreal anti-VEGF treatment with 3 or more injections within the previous 6 months (24 weeks); (3) Central macular thickness (CMT )> 250 µm measured using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) (Nikon RS-3000, Japan). (4) Fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) showed no signs of ischemia (or ischemia had been ameliorated by conventional laser therapy outside the macular arch).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were a history of other underlying retinal vascular diseases or other retinal pathologies, a history of vitreoretinal surgery or cataract surgery within the previous 6 months, and a history of steroid therapy within the previous 6 months. Patients were not eligible if they had retinal thickening due to the epiretinal membrane or vitreomacular traction syndrome.
