Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: (1) Patients to have experienced a severe ankle sprain, the affected ankle to have been sprained at least once within a year; (2) After spraining, the affected side must have experienced repeated pain or "softening"; (3) A Cumberland ankle instability tool (CAIT) score on the affected side lower than 24 points (out of 30 points); (4) No history of ankle surgery or fracture within three months and no other lesions affecting lower extremity balance or muscle strength.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Recurrence of ankle sprain on the affected side during the rehabilitation intervention period; (2) Unable to train or present for examination at the required time; (3) Patients receiving other methods of ankle joint treatment during the intervention period; (4) Patients with contraindications to BFRT.
