Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Phase 1 Study: (1) Aged 18 years or above. (2) The first diagnosis of COVID-19 by PCR test/RAT dated between February 18, 2022 and May 6, 2022. (3) Non-diabetics before COVID-19 or DM patients diagnosed by physician(s) before COVID-19. (4) Fully understand what is involved in this study and give documented consent to participate in the study. (5) Able to understand and be able to follow written and oral instructions in Chinese. 2. Phase 2 Study: (1) Aged 18-65 years. (2) The latest diagnosis of COVID-19 by PCR test/RAT at least 4 weeks; and the latest test(s) had shown negative result(s) prior to the commencement of the study. (3) Non-diabetics before COVID-19 or DM patients diagnosed by physician(s) before COVID-19. (4) Meet the diagnostic criteria of long COVID: at least one new, returning, or ongoing health problem(s) experienced by people four or more weeks after the initial coronavirus infection. (5) Have experienced at least one long COVID symptom(s) within the past 7 days. (6) Verbally communicable. (7) Fully understand what is involved in this study and give documented consent to participate in the study. (8) Able to understand and be able to follow written and oral instructions in Chinese. 3. Phase 3 Study: (1) Aged 18-65 years. (2) The latest diagnosis of COVID-19 by PCR test/RAT at least 4 weeks; and the latest test(s) had shown negative result(s) prior to the commencement of the study. (3) Non-diabetics before COVID-19 or DM patients diagnosed by physician(s) before COVID-19. (4) Meet the diagnostic criteria of long COVID: at least one new, returning, or ongoing health problem(s) experienced by people four or more weeks after the initial coronavirus infection. (5) Have experienced at least one long COVID symptom(s) within the past 7 days. (6) Verbally communicable. (7) Have completed the 2nd phase (face-to-face TCM syndrome type diagnosis) of the study. (8) Falls into one of the five most common TCM syndrome types of long COVID with reference to the result(s) of the phase 2 study. (9) Fully understand what is involved in this study and give documented consent to participate in the study. (10) Able to understand and be able to follow written and oral instructions in Chinese.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. With any serious commodities, such as cardio-/cerebro-vascular, respiratory, digestive, hepatic, renal, haematological disease(s) or abnormalities of other organs and systems; malignancies, major infectious disease(s) or neuropsychiatric disorders. 2. Pregnant and nursing subjects as well as those who are suspected of being pregnant. 3. Vulnerable adults (i.e. mentally or physically disabled who cannot take care of himself/herself). 4. Others whom the investigator or co-investigator considered to be inappropriate for enrolment (justifiable reason(s) must be provided).
