Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children with sepsis admitted to the Children's Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of Tai 'an Central Hospital from January 2023 to January 2025. Criteria for admission: According to the Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and treatment of septic shock in Children (2015 edition), patients were divided into sepsis group and severe sepsis/septic shock group according to their condition and guidelines. Healthy children in the same period were selected as control group.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age =28 days, age >18 years; End-stage disease (advanced tumor of any type, end-stage chronic liver and kidney disease, severe heart failure); The presence of unrelieved hematological diseases and malignant tumors; Severe immunosuppression; Fatal congenital malformations or chromosomal abnormalities; The parents did not agree to participate in the study
