Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Acute respiratory failure (PaO2/FiO2=300mmHg); 2.Receiving invasive mechanical ventialtion

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age<18yrs; 2. Patient who receiving mechanical ventialtion for less than 24 hours; 3. For patients who admitted to ICU morethan once, we only include the first record of ICU admission; 4. Patients have been included in other centers
