Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with age more than 18 and less than 80 years old; 2. Patients admitted to ICU showed acute atrial fibrillation =120 beats/min; 3. ICU stay for 7 days or more; 4. After obtaining written informed consent from one of the patients/guardians.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. VR>200 beats/min; pre-excitation syndrome; a serious heart condition; 2. Severe lung disease, shock, liver or kidney dysfunction, stroke or embolism within 6 months; 3. Allergy or contraindication to the study medications; use of antiarrhythmic and/or atrioventricular nodal blocking drug within last 7 days (in case of amiodarone, within past 3 months); Cardioversion; Confirmed or suspected hyperthyroidism; the presence of implanted pacemaker and/or implantable cardioverter defibrillator
