Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >18 years; 2. "High risk" of aspiration (meeting one of the following criteria): Age > 70 years old; Decreased level of consciousness; Swallowing dysfunction; Poor oral care; History: central nervous system disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease; Prone position; Artificial airway or mechanical ventilation 3. Expected ICU stay >24 hours
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: patients with shock who had active gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, intestinal ischemia or short bowel syndrome; patients had gastrointestinal surgery; patients had severe acute pancreatitis; patients were allergic to any component of the EN formula; refused to participate in the study; pregnant.
