Interventions

Hypothermia group:After vessel recanalization, 300mL of cold saline at 4? (30mL/min) were administered through the vertebral artery + conventional treatment
Control group:After vessel recanalization, 300mL of 37? saline (30mL/min) were administered through the vertebral artery + conventional treatment

18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18-80 years; 2. Clinical diagnosis of AIS; 3. Large vessel occlusion in the posterior circulation demonstrated with CTA, MRA or DSA; 4. A baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score =8; 5. Less than 8 hours from stroke onset to groin puncture.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Rapid spontaneous improvement in neurological status to an NIHSS 2; 7. Severe arterial blood pressure > 185/110 mmHg; 8. Blood glucose 22.2 mmol/L; 9. Laboratory evidence of coagulopathy (platelet count 50 seconds, or INR > 3.0); 10. Pregnancy; 11. Patients being enrolled or having been enrolled in other clinical trial within 3 months prior to this clinical trial; 12. Informed consent was not obtained.
