45 Years to 80 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 45 years, regardless of gender; 2. Carotid artery ultrasound showed carotid atherosclerotic plaque; 3. Patients who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes will receive metformin monotherapy for at least 8 weeks.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. People who are allergic to any component of the study drug; 2. Other non type 2 diabetes mellitus; 3. Acute complications of diabetes occurred in recent 6 months; 4. Patients with previous or existing clinical diagnosis of heart disease; 5. Patients with previous or existing clinical diagnosis of cerebrovascular disease; 6. Patients with previous or existing clinical diagnosis of kidney disease (including diabetic nephropathy) and eGFR < 60 ml/min/1.73m2; 7. Patients with previous or existing clinical diagnosis of peripheral vascular disease; 8. Patients with severe liver disease (liver function alanine aminotransferase (ALT) or aspartate aminotransferase (AST) or total bilirubin is higher than the upper limit of normal value); 9. Creatine kinase (CK) is higher than the upper limit of normal value; 10. Rheumatoid immune diseases, malignant tumors, etc; 11. People with various acute and chronic infectious diseases.
